Beef Soup Recipe with Evap

This hot and satisfying recipe is good for family bonding. Best served in lunch or dinner. So if you are planning to have a family gathering at home, you can try this one and let your family judge it. But I assure you, this is surely delicious!

Ingredients:

1/2 kilo beef brisket cubes
410 ml evap milk
1 tbsp cooking oil
1/2 cup onion, sliced
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 tbsps ginger, sliced
2 tbsps soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
4 cups water
lemon grass, tied in a knot
1 cup potato, cubed
1 cup Baguio beans
1 tomato, sliced
1 finger chili
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup cut spring onion

 Procedure:

  •  In a large pot, heat cooking oil and sauté onion, garlic, ginger and beef. 
  •  Add oyster sauce, soy sauce , water and lemon grass. 
  •  Cover and let it cook for about 30 to 45 minutes or wait until beef is fork-tender. 
  •  Add beans, tomato, potato, and chili.
  • Wait until the vegetables are cooked. 
  •  Pour in evap milk then season with salt and taste. 
  • Topped with onion rings and serve hot. 
  • Enjoy. 
Makes 5 to 6 servings.

Muscovado Maja Recipe

Compared to a normal maja blanca, this one is quite unique. I cannot say nothing but DELICIOUS! Although I have come through some mistakes while cooking but through learning and learning I achieved the taste I wanted. Here is my perfect finished muscovado maja. You can try this at home.

Ingredients: 

410 ml Evaporada
1 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup muscovado sugar
2 cups cooked sago pearls
1 can cream-style corn

Procedure: 

  •  Mix evap, cornstarch, sugar and cream-style corn. 
  •  Cook over medium heat while stirring until slightly thickened. 
  •  Stir in sago and cook until very thick and sticky. 
  •  Remove from heat and transfer mixture to a large, buttered dish ,either rectangular or square.
  • Let cool then cut into squares. 
  • Serve. 
Makes 10 servings 

Turon con Tsokolate

Want some snacks? This one might be one of the best. From the title itself, it seems to be tempting to eat. To all moms like me, you can try this during your family home gatherings. I’m sure they’ll all love this.

Ingredients:

Chocolate sauce:
410 ml Evap
¼ cup butter
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ cup sugar
¼ tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsps flour
salt

Turon:
6 pcs Saba, cut into strips (lengthwise)
1 cup diced jackfruit
brown sugar
Lumpia wrappers
Cooking oil

Optional: Sesame Seeds

Procedure:
  • Combine all ingredients for chocolate sauce.
  • Cook over low heat, stirring until smooth and thickened.
  • Set aside and let it cool.
  • For the turon, roll bananas and jackfruit in wrapper and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  • Deep fry until golden brown.
  • Serve with chocolate sauce.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

 Makes 24 pieces.

Puto Cheese Recipe

If you’re a Filipino, then I know you love this, right? I have made this simple recipe for you to have a reference if ever you are planning to cook this. I hope you do enjoy yours as I enjoyed mine too.

Ingredients :
1 cup evap
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 cup melted butter
1 egg
2 1/2 cups water
cheese
water, for steaming

Procedure:

  •  Prepare steamer and pour water. Grease molds and set aside.
  • In a bowl, sift flour, sugar, and baking powder. Mix well. 
  • Add the butter, evap, egg, and water. Mix all the ingredients well. 
  • Put mixture into the greased molds filling about three-quarters full. 
  • Organize molds (or muffin cups) in the steamer. Top each puto with cheese. 
  •  Steam for 20 minutes. 
  •  Remove finished product (puto) from the steamer. Unmold and arrange in a platter. 
  •  Serve hot or cold. Enjoy!

Macaroni Salad Recipe

This is one of my favorite desserts. Just few days ago, I made my home-made and own-styled macaroni salad during my baby's 1st birthday. Making this dessert doesn't need to be expensive. If you only know how to budget and choose cheaper ingredients, you can still achieve a sweeter and yummier Macaroni salad recipe.

Ingredients: 

400g Fiesta elbow macaroni 
1 medium-sized Fruit Cocktail 
2 cans condensed milk 
2 cans Nestle cream 
250 mL mayonnaise 
1 piece cheese 
2 cans nata de coco, red 
2 cans kaong, green 

Optional: You can also add Raisins in your recipe. I prefer not to add mine. 

Instructions: 
  • Cook macaroni. Follow the cooking instructions in the package carefully. 
  • Drain the nata de coco, kaong and the fruit cocktail. Set aside. 
  • Combine all the ingredients: mayonnaise, nestle cream, condensed milk, and cheese. 
  • Put in a preserving bottle and put in the refrigerator. 
  • Serve when cold. 
  • Enjoy!

Minatamis na Saging

Ingredients: 

9 pcs banana, sliced into 3 per banana 
2 cups water 
2 cups brown sugar 
1 tsp salt 

Procedure: 
  • Pour 2 cups of water into a cooking pot. Bring to a boil. 
  • Put in sugar and salt and stir well. 
  • Put the sliced bananas and boil for few minutes or until the liquid becomes sticky. 
  • Put in a serving plate. Serve hot. Enjoy!

Pinoy Egg Omelet

Egg Omelet is usually cooked during breakfast. Cooking this recipe is easy. It’s so simple that even newbies can simply understand and apply. With just tomato, onion, and eggs, you can cook Pinoy Egg Omelet but you can add other vegetables according to your choice.




Ingredients

3 eggs
2 tomatoes, diced
1 red onion, chopped
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsps oil

Procedure
  • Crack the eggs and then put in a medium bowl. Then add salt and pepper. Beat using a wire whisk or fork. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Fry onion and tomatoes for about 2 minutes or until slightly browned.
  • Pour the beaten egg mixture. Tilt the pan sideways to spread the egg mixture. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Using a wide spatula, flip the omelet and cook the other side for 3 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and then transfer the omelet to a serving plate. 
  • Share and enjoy!

Chicken Afritada or Apritadang Manok is one of those Filipino dishes that are cooked in a tomato-based sauce. In Philippines, Chicken Afritada is so popular and loved by many Filipinos. This has been an everyday dish in Filipino households. This is delicious and an easy-to-make home style dish. However, with all the complete ingredients and putting some love and enjoyment in your cooking will absolutely turn this usual dish into something extra-ordinary. 

My father, a known chef in our hometown, used to cook this all the time during birthdays and fiestas. In addition, among all Chicken Afritada I’ve tasted, his one is the best. I tried to cook in my own way and yet it ended well. Smile. Thanks to him, I may not possess all the ability he has in cooking, but still I have little. If you like to cook Chicken Afritada and doesn’t know how, we’ll this post maybe a big help. 

Ingredients 

2 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces 
1 large potato, peeled and quartered 
1 large carrot, sliced 
1 large bell pepper, sliced into thin strips 
1 cup green peas 
8 ounces tomato sauce 
4 cloves garlic, minced 
4 pieces hotdogs, sliced 
1 medium onion, diced 
1 1/4 cups chicken broth or stock 
2 pieces dried bay leaves 
1 teaspoon granulated white sugar 
4 tablespoons cooking oil 
Salt and ground black pepper to taste 

Procedure 


  • Heat cooking oil in a pot or casserole. 
  • Fry the chicken until it turns light brown, then remove from the pot and set aside. 
  • On the same pot, cook garlic and onions. 
  • Add the sliced hotdogs and fry chicken then cook for a minute. 
  • Add tomato sauce and chicken stock then the bay leaves. Simmer for just 30 to 40 minutes. 
  • Put the potato and carrots then boil for 7 minutes or wait until the vegetables are soft. 
  • Add the bell pepper, green peas, sugar, salt and ground black pepper then cook for an additional 3 minutes. 
  • Turn the heat off then transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!

Chicken Adobo Recipe

Chicken Adobo is one of the famous main dishes in the Philippines. It is commonly serve during fiesta, birthdays, parties, or even common meals. This recognized Filipino food is the easiest that you can get if you want to eat a delicious yet cheap cuisine. 

According to history, the name “adobo” was from the Spanish. However, the cooking process is very native to the Philippines. During the late 16th and 17th century, the Spanish encountered an ethnic cooking method which involved stewing with vinegar (adobo), which is the Spanish word for seasoning or marinade. 

Cooking Chicken Adobo is not complicated and hard at all. You don’t need to be an expert to cook this. However, of course, you should have a little amount of money to buy all the ingredients, and follow the procedures below. Have fun and enjoy! 

Ingredients 

2 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces 
4 tbsp soy sauce 
3 cloves garlic, crushed 
1/4 cup cooking oil 
1 to 2 cups water 
3 pcs dried bay leaves 
whole peppercorn 
2 tbsp vinegar 
1/2 tablespoon white sugar 
salt to taste 

Cooking Procedure 

  • Marinade the chicken for at least 3 hours by combining the soy sauce and garlic. 
  • Put cooking oil in a pan and apply heat. When the oil is hot, put-in the marinated chicken, and cook all the sides for 5 minutes. 
  • Pour the remaining marinade in the pan and add water. Bring to a boil.
  • Add the whole peppercorn and dried bay leaves. Cook for 30 minutes or wait until the chicken is tender. 
  • Add the vinegar and cook for 10 minutes. 
  • Add the sugar, and salt to taste. 
  • Stir and turn the heat off. 
  • Serve hot. Enjoy your chicken adobo!
