Compared to a normal maja blanca, this one is quite unique. I cannot say nothing but DELICIOUS! Although I have come through some mistakes while cooking but through learning and learning I achieved the taste I wanted. Here is my perfect finished muscovado maja. You can try this at home.
Ingredients:
410 ml Evaporada
1 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup muscovado sugar
2 cups cooked sago pearls
1 can cream-style corn
Procedure:
- Mix evap, cornstarch, sugar and cream-style corn.
- Cook over medium heat while stirring until slightly thickened.
- Stir in sago and cook until very thick and sticky.
- Remove from heat and transfer mixture to a large, buttered dish ,either rectangular or square.
- Let cool then cut into squares.
- Serve.
Makes 10 servings
